Get to Know Our Featured Authors - Tyra! [Fall Featured List 2018]

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! For the ENTIRE month of December, we'll be seeing content like this from both myself, and from the Featured Authors (going all the way back to the beginning!). Along with each of us sharing first chapters from our novels (all on, or soon to be on, Wattpad!), we'll also be getting an inside look into everyone's writing process, book reviews, and even better - getting to know the contestants trying for Featured Author of The Year 2019! Stick around for the fun!
But what do we have here today, you ask? As most of you know, I've expanded on my usual Featured Author contest by adding my own version of the 'Wattpad Picks' to my website - because of this, I've found incredible authors with even better stories to share with my followers! Today, we'll get the chance to get to know one of our featured list members in honor of the Featured Author's Get Together!

For those who don't know, Tyra (@tyragathers ) is one of our few published authors featured in the Get Together this year - and she was also included in the Fall Featured List! I've loved being able to get to know her through her writing and I can't wait to see where she takes her writing next!
Since starting on Wattpad, Tyra has posted a total of ten works. One being the first in her now published novel, He Promised Me Forever And Always, the next, my favorite, Drowning, and her fanfic, Misunderstood.

SS: Hello, and welcome back to Featured Author! How have things been since we last spoke?
TYRA: Hi things have been absolutely amazing. I have done so many things and I have so many ideas and upcoming plans for the future.
SS: To get started off with some fun questions, what does your life outside of Wattpad/writing look like? Any fun hobbies?
TYRA: Hi things have been absolutely amazing. I have done so many things and I have so many ideas and upcoming plans for the future.
SS: What’s the most interesting thing about you that we haven’t learned so far?
TYRA: Most interesting thing would be that I have my own book, my first ever written novel available for others to not only read but to purchase. I have published my story and it has been an amazing journey. Sometimes I feel like I say it too much but I'm just so happy and grateful about it!!
SS: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
TYRA: When I was little I was an overachiever so I wanted to be two things. I wanted to be an Adoption counselor ever since I watched the Disney channel movie, Meet The Robinsons. Ever since I saw that I wanted to help children who didn't have families because that movie just changed my life. True story XD. Also since I was and still am obsessed with weddings I wanted to be a Wedding Planner. I always watched David Tutera, Say Yes to the Dress, Bridezillas, and Four Weddings... still do.
SS: What was your first story and how did you come up with it?
TYRA: My first story is He Promised Forever and Always. When I first wrote the story it was called Love is Complicated. I liked the name but it didn't really click. When I write stories or events I don't really have ideas that are planned. Whatever I am thinking about or whatever I see in my head, whatever I daydream I would write down and it would lead me to writing a story.
SS: What made you want to write?
TYRA: When I was on Wattpad I read so many amazing stories and I saw so many people being successful with their books and publishing and making movies I just thought hey I can do that too. I didn't sit down and plan and automatically make an outline, I just daydreamed.
SS: What’s one thing that you have to have/do in order to write for your story?
TYRA: Most of the time, crazy to say, I absolutely HAVE to be listening to music. Or I have to listen to music before and then daydream. I have to kind of put myself in the shoes of my characters and feel their emotions and come up with different things that happen while listening to music. It's sort of like there is a music video playing in my head.
SS: What gave you the idea/how did you come up with your most recent book or series?
TYRA: Honestly my answer is still the exact same as above. I didn't outline, I didn't look up a story plot, I just listened to music and let the words speak to me and I made up a scene in my head then I wrote down each scene I would see then I would pull it all together to figure out what exactly I would be writing about.
SS: What’s one of your favorite things about writing?
TYRA: I love to re-read all of my stories. I love to kind of imagine that I'm the main character and to read it as if that's my life. It's so fun and sometimes life changing to do.
SS: What are you most looking forward to in 2019?
TYRA: What I am looking forward to would be completing my second novel Drowning then continuing on with publishing that story. Then I would love to start working on my third story Reality Check. I have been super excited to start working on every chapter for that story but I like to finish what I start first. Thanks so much for all the support.
