First Chapters - Drowning by Tyra @tyragathers

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! For the ENTIRE month of December, we'll be seeing content like this from both myself, and from the Featured Authors (going all the way back to the beginning!). Along with each of us sharing first chapters from our novels (all on, or soon to be on, Wattpad!), we'll also be getting an inside look into everyone's writing process, book reviews, and even better - getting to know the contestants trying for Featured Author of The Year 2019! Stick around for the fun!

Now over to Tyra:

Hey there my name is Tyra Gathers and I was included in the Fall Featured List!! I am most proud of every single thing I write, no matter how long it takes me and how much writer's block I get. My first novel I am so very proud of because it has been officially published. It took me about 3 years to finally finish it and then probably another 2 to get it out there in the open! I am so excited about my other stories which are currently being written and so very grateful to Shay for recognizing my story and getting it out there a bit more for everyone to see.

He Promised Me Forever And Always

[Chapter 1:] Bitch at First Sight

Kallen's POV

"You've ruined my life mom!" Sierra yells and throws pillows at the door my mom is standing near.

"Sierra I'm sorry you feel that way but this is the best decision." Mom says while ducking.

"Best decision?! So your 'oh so great life advice' for me is that when the going gets tough... You run away?!" Sierra starts crying as mom's face turns blank.

"Sweetie I know how much you love your father but he's hurt us. He's hurt me, you, and Kallen. We need to start over and just... honey please do this for me. I want the best for you two. Kallen you understand right?" Mom says as she turns to me looking with pleading eyes.

"Yeah mom I understand. I'll talk to Sierra for now we have to get to school, so why don't you get ready for work and we'll see you later okay?" I try to get her out of the room before Sierra blows a gasket.

She nods looking sad as she takes one last look at Sierra while exiting the room. I look over at Sierra in anger then jump on her bed and start attacking her.

"What the hell Sierra?!? You know how much mom is going through. She's hurt and you're just acting like a stuck-up brat."

She looks at me with a blank face. "Let's just get ready for this new shitty school okay?" She pushes me off her then runs to her bathroom and slams the door.

I know she misses dad and is mad at him at the same time but she can't treat mom like crap. If anything he's the crap not our mother. I sigh and walk to my room next door.

Finally twenty minutes later Sierra walks out the house. Neither of us have our car yet since we got here by a mover's truck. We should get them by the end of the week but for now we have to walk.

"This is gonna suck!" Sierra says as she pulls her book bag strap higher up her shoulder.

"Stop being a Debbie downer." I say as I start to walk faster.

"Kallen we've missed two months of school already. We will be the loners and nobodies. Hopefully the people here aren't assholes."

A black Ashton Martin drives past, running over a huge puddle of water that splashes all over us. The car stops and a blonde girl with green eyes looks out the drivers window.

"Oops sorry losers, my bad." She laughs and starts up the car again. As she drives off we see her lift her fake tan hand out the car and give us the finger.

"Yep I'm definitely gonna hate it here." Sierra says as she rings out her straight now wavy brown hair. She huffs then keeps walking.I ring out my curly black hair then drop my hands and my mouth as I look at the castle like school in front of us.

"Wow!" We both say looking at each other.

We walk through the parking lot and see all types of fancy cars. From Bugatti's to Lamborghini's.

I guess this is a rich school. Great. Note the sarcasm. As we get closer to the school we see the black Ashton Martin that got us soaked in puddle water. There we saw the blonde girl leaning on the drivers door. She was wearing a short skirt and a tube top with pink high heels. A pretty Hispanic girl with straight brunette hair was standing beside her. She was wearing something a little less revealing and actually really cute. She was wearing pink and black Jordan's with high waisted shorts and a scuba zip bralet. Then there was an African American girl sitting on the hood of the car. She was the prettiest of the three. She had black hair with light brown tips. She was wearing a sequin bracelet with a high low skirt and gladiator sandals. For some reason, they reminded me of the clique mean girls. We pass by them and walk to the office. After getting our schedules and a map we find our lockers which are on the main hallway. About ten lockers from ours, stood the three girls from this morning. Sierra and I start talking about our classes and where we're going to meet for lunch then all of a sudden the crowded hallway goes quiet.I look up to see everyone looking towards the front door. Then I see three tall drool-worthy god's walking this way.

One on the left looks like the jokester of the group. He is African American and is wearing a black shirt with the schools mascot on it with jeans and Jordan's. Then there's the boy on the right who looks like a bad boy minus the leather jacket. He has brown hair with hazel eyes. He's wearing a black v neck with black jeans and combat boots. Then there's the really cute guy in the middle. He has black hair with magnificent blue eyes. He's wearing a black leather jacket with a white tee shirt and jeans with black Jordan's.

The guy in the middle looks my way then smiles and winks. I smile back as they get closer. But then frown as they walk right past us to the three girls who I now have no interest in knowing. Three bitches at first sight.

The guy in the middle walks toward the pretty black girl and they hug. Then the bad boy kisses her forehead. But the black boy puts his arm around the blonde white girl.

We watch the black girl shiver and the cute black haired guy give her his leather jacket. Aw how adorable. I want a guy to lend me his jacket.

"What are you looking at newbie?" The blonde yells making the others look towards me and Sierra.

"Leave them alone Haley." The pretty black girl says scolding the blonde bitch.

Haley scoffs. "You always have to ruin my fun Scarlett!"

"Come on guys lets just go to class." Scarlett says while pulling away the bad boy and the cute guy.

Haley glares at us then follows the rest of the group.

Sierra looks at me and huffs.

Yep now I hate this school.
